Has it been loading ridiculously slow for anyone else the last couple of months? Sometimes pages never load, or it takes forever and a half to load. It's only texags that's slow for me, so I know it's not my computer. Anyone else noticed this? I delete my cookies & temporary files frequently, so that's not it either.

Give em a break. They're upgrading to Windows 95.

jen ive noticed the slowdown too. "3.0" has been in the works for years...wasnt it like 3 years ago they showed us the "beta"? on that point, has any site functionality even changed since they implemented the watch list? search certainly never got the upgrade we were told it would get. speaking from experience, its not that fucking hard to write database queries that dont suck.

the only plausible explanation that ive heard is that the new site is a commercial design with a lot of flexibility that they are creating from the ground up, but even that doesnt take a team of indians more than 6mos-1year to hammer out.

Jeez...if the shack even had one fourth the traffic of Texags, I probably wouldn't even go to Texags anymore. I can't get the search function to work, pages to load...nothing. And it takes 5 minutes to send a damn PM. It's getting worse, and I really don't think it's my computer/connection. Texags is the only site that's slow for me. When the hell is the upgrade going to happen???

its pretty clear his hosting is a major issue. needs to find someone he can sign a throttling agreement with. i think the sites admin function is in over its head but thats just my opinion. they got the grand idea of making the 3.0 framework customizable and sellable to other schools and nothing has improved since (cept the gabe addition, which didnt stop me from dropping the star).

seriously, i do think part of it is their site/hosting and part of it is the user's isp. i noticed in the past that when i couldn't get on there that it was slow for me on other sites as well. i don't think it's all on them. also, when you guys can't get in i usually have no trouble at all there

i think part of the key to making TA work is that you have to come over here and bitch. then it is magically back up. we must be the warning system for brandon.
