at this point, it is just pathetic how dated their architecture is. i cannot even get to the website right now. usually, 2 to 3 times a day TA will just not load. i have to close the browser and reopen everything. this never happens on any other site.

Software architecture aside, the overriding problem with Texags remains, as it has for 8 years, the inconsistency in moderation. It's a hard job to do moderate even-handedly.

To them, the Rivalries board is an annoyance, so they look the other way on lots of things and clamp down hard on other things. Different sets of rule for that board, and for the groups of people who post there. And since that forum is a necessary evil, they treat it with indifference. The problem is that the rules should be stated or at least a philosophical statement of intent posted.

Five Star General is for old people with no sense of humor and those who want to be that way. In that instance, they allow the lunatics to run the asylum. That's cool, but Staff should state that somewhere for everyone to see BEFORE they venture there.

The Politics board mirrors Brandon's political bent, which is cool, but they should make it clear by renaming it "Conservative Politics." If that was the case, then Libs who post there would know that they are the Politics board equivalent of tsips and tards on Rivalries and have different rules applied to them.

I can understand how Brandon and co don't like rivalries. I'm sure they never indented for it to be a big as it is. Of course many on here are directly responsible for it's content giving STAFF nightmares. I'm sure most of the rivalries content scares the crap outta him.

We where told to police ourselves, the god damn voting function does that. I don't give a shit if they don't like it, then don't have a voting function at all.

All these problems could be solved with mod that not only post regularly on rivalries, but wants to mod the board, and is known to everyone that he is a mod.

hence the reason the shack was created. i got tired of getting banned for my usual antics and decided that i would start my own site so i could do the shit that gets me banned on texags without having to go through the banning. i let a select group of people know and we kept it private so we could do what we wanted without a bunch of stupid shit. it took off way better than i ever imagined and we decided to open it up so anyone could join and post. of course, i had to do a fucking upgrade to the board which fucked up a lot of shit (why a lot of things don't work right now). seems the fuck ups killed the registration too so now i have to register anybody new over here. i really wish i could get that shit fixed but the files i need to edit to fix it are encrypted and i cannot get access to them. invision won't help out either with it. one of these days, i'm going to eventually shut the board down for the weekend and see if i can delete this skin and get a copy of the original to see if i can fix this mess
