alright guys, i am the soon to be in charge of a bachelor party. being the youngin around here i want to hear the best of all you older folks stories. considering the groom is a vegas lover, i have already compiled my thoughts from the other vegas thread, so no need to repeat those on this one. ill restrict all comments to the continental US, but other than that i am up for whatever suggestions. i have new york, vegas, miami, new orleans, and houston spreadsheets currently going but i am open to more than that. most of the crew has done vegas but not new orleans so I am leaning towards a nola weekend since i know the city and french q quite well.

as far as nola goes, im think jaques-imo's and commanders for the two weekend dinners and then just pillaging bourbon street for two nights. not sure if that is a good bachelor party though, thats just a badass party weekend to me. stay at the W on poydras.

new york is what it is. we'd do a broadway and most of the normal NY attractions. very much less party, but still a great weekend.

miami would be a mostly club weekend. get some good eats in as well, but i need to do more research on the best places to go.

houston would be two nice dinners and the usual party scenes. im highly against this choice, but need to keep it available just to be safe.

budget isnt cheap, but not too cash heavy either. call it five hundred to fifteen hundy a piece. 6-8 people.

Vegas

Nola

Htown

I'd toss out NYC and Miami. Just my personal opinion. You can (assuming you're all in Houston or close) drive to Nola, and that saves you a chunk of money for gambling/girls (as opposed to flying to NYC or Miami).

How long do you have?

It would be pretty bad ass to do a one or two day offshore charter out of NOLA then come back and party balls on Burbon st for a couple of nights.

Either Vegas or NOLA. NOLA would be slightly cheaper, but I always prefer Vegas for a BP. Plenty of shit to get into in either destination. I'd definitely axe Houston, unless it's just a last option and too many people wont be able to afford NOLA and Vegas. I guess if you do H-Tine, there is always Treasures which is just as good as most Vegas clubs outside of Spearmint Rhino.

Vegas vs. NO is a no-brainer, do Vegas.

Never been to Miami, so I can't comment on that.

Fuck NYC when it comes to that type of party.

personally i'm a bigger fan of new orleans. your money will go much further there than overpriced, overhyped vegas

I think dag is right. If everyone has been to Vegas for a bachelor party, go to New Orleans.

NOLA is around a 5 hour drive, right? That might kinda suck come Sunday around noon when it is time to head home. Not that a flight would be much better.

correct. that drive sucks pretty bad. but nothing is worse than the flight home from vegas. if you do go to vegas my only advice is to not take a late flight on sunday. nothing worse than hanging around there without a room.

Yeah, I've got a 5pm flight leaving Vegas in November. Gonna have a few hours to kill somewhere...I hope I have some money left over so I can at least sit at the sportsbook and play some NFL games.

In Vegas, you could watch all of the early and afternoon games with a 5:00 flight. Some of it would be at the airport but you shouldn't miss too much.

almost all of us are in houston. i dont think the drive would be too bad to NOLA, we can take one of the suburbans and it wont be uncomfortable. i back and forthed to NOLA for 6 weeks on a client from houston and its just as easy to drive and not deal with all the airport bullshit, not to mention just having a car for the weekend without dealing with a rental since i want to do a dinner out by tulane at jaques-imo's.

was in NOLA for a very similar purpose (buddy moving back to ohio) about 2 months ago. hard to go wrong with hand grenades, strip clubs at every turn and awesome food all within reasonable driving distance

I wouldn't advise driving to New Orleans. Take an early flight Friday and late one on Sunday. Recently did a BP and we got there at 9 am on Friday, gambled all day at Harrahs and then went to Bourbon. You'll be happy that you flew on Sunday, being that the flight is less than an hour. You can take advantage of the 3 for 1 happy hours on Sunday as well. Instead of being hungover with a 6 hour drive ahead of you, you are hammered on a 1 hour flight....much better option.

i understand what you are saying puds, but this group is doing a drive if we settle on NOLA. the stories that will come out is worth the pain of the hangovers. just saying.
