you all were out matched at several positions and fought your ass off until the end.

yeah, there is a lot of room to improve, but effort isn't one of them.

lot of less talented or just younger kids kept fighting and kept that close......J Johnson remains a tough son of a bitch and Gray might be the best running back in the Big 12 with such an inexperienced line blocking for him.

the Big 12 commissioner's primary role is to ensure that this conference keep the worst possible TV deal possible in all of college sports.

Va Tech and the ACC do better.

It is never in HD, you can never hear the crowd or get the atmosphere, the announcers continue to talk about nonsense while a play is happening, or they come back from commercial during or after a play.

You never know what fucking channel any of the games are on.

I was hoping TNT would stay involved.....they were new to it, but they put out a halfway good product.

seriously, if i had been in the other room listening, i would have sworn a big ten game was on (Ohio State game was just as fucking boring btw.). as for the va tech game, something was wrong with the telecast here cause everything was kind of jumpy. kinda reminded me of those old sportflicks trading cards where you moved them and the in action pic changed

and Texas decides to lay an egg on the one prime time game we get.

if Texas has half the effort on the field that TAMU did today, this is already a blow out.

that falls square on the coaching.

I'd like to get the fucking shit outta Fran right now. WTF couldn't he at least recruit two or three bags of concrete for OL and DL.

I'd like to chop his fucking ass up into a million pieces then bury them in little debbie boxes all over Texas.

Motherfucker.

Gray isn't even the best running back on our team, much less the conference.

gray does a LOT of courtney lewis dancing. there are a lot of times when he needs to use his speed instead of jumping around.

Puddy, I don't see how you could say that Gray isn't your best running back.

If he wasn't he wouldn't be getting all of the snaps.

Being a running back includes the blitz pick up assignments from D1 defenses and in this conference, you have to be able to play with out a full back and get out into the flat and catch a ball that is usually thrown over your shoulder in a hurry as the QB is trying to get rid of it.

If he didn't do all of that in high school, then he is not your best running back....yet.

He might not be your most highly touted high school running back, but everything starts over once you hit the DI field...and Gray has been - so far- a much better running back than anyone on your team or many of the other teams in the conference that I have seen

I haven't seen Hunter yet, and that lamb for Colorado (Stewart?) seemed to have a ton of burst..but I like Gray due to what he has done with the blocking he has done it with - same as JJ.

Speaking of that, Scott can't get on the field for Colorado either, I expect for similar reasons.

I agree that blocking is an often overlooked role for a RB, but 16 carries for 49 fuck off ain't gonna cut it. Not that our OL is helping, but I honestly don't know why we're not getting Brad Stephens in the game more against a team like that. These little cutback guys weren't getting it done, and Stephens runs with more power. McCoy looked like a fullback last night and did well when we handed it to him in a power formation.

Cyrus is our best all around RB to date, in part due to Michael being less than 100% for the majority of the year, but also in part to him not picking up blocking assignments as well as Gray. He completely whiffed on 2(that i saw) blocks that allowed the defender a virtually untouched shot at Jerrod.

I dont think theres much question that Michael has more talent as a runner than Gray, even at this point, but again based on the above.....i have no problem with Gray taking the larger share of carries.

Uhhhh, because he isn't. The only reason he is getting the majority of the snaps over Michael right now is that Michael is still learning the offense, and he is better in pass protection. Anyone who has seen the two run knows who the better RB is without question.

either way, as bad as that texas running game is i'd bet any longhorn would be happy with either right now, just like i'd be happy with that texas oline.

If fuck off admitted to Michael being the best RB on our team and in conference, which he already is, that would be admitting he wished he played for tu, that he's better than anyone on their roster, and that he was an idiot for saying they didn't want him and that Whaley (who is a bust) is better

gray is not decisive as a runner nor does he take what is there on some runs and turns a 3 or 4 yrd pick up into 1 or sometimes a loss by trying to break it outside instead of turning it up field. you're not going to hit a homerun or rip off 10 each time. move the chains and do it again

his blocking isn't that bad and with our issues at tackle on either side, it doesn't make a fuck. lamb needs more carries unless he's hurt. same with stephens.

I'd say having shit tackles makes having a decent blocking back a little more important.
