the call on Sunday has happened to EVERY infielder that has ever played this game.

I am SURE that Childress used it as a teaching tool as the SS threw your guy off the bag

Your 1st baseman kept digging for the bag, which is a mistake.....you throw the ball down in the grass and run back to the dug out.

This was a REGULAR SEASON GAME..that is it.

I KNOW that a coach like Childress isn't whining...he is teaching with this

I KNOW that your players are taking this as coaching.

The only one's whining are the fringe element of your fan base that think this is a video game and are probably involved in multiple fantasy leagues.

You still have a series with a big 12 opponent and EVERY THING to play for in the coming weeks.

Chill.

It happens.

That was the easiest DP situation for your SS and he blew it.

Everyone here that has played baseball knows what it means when you throw that ball wide and pull the 1rs baseman off the bag.

Personally, I think he was out, but that call happens EVERY day across this country.

When I went to the TAMU/ UH game I noticed the weakness in that team was base running and defense.....nothing has changed.

Buck up, fuck the Ump and get you asses into a regional.

This wasn't the world series.

Remember yards, you are talking to the FANS, who have all week to talk about nothing but this.

I would hope (and bet) that our coach and players have moved on from this.

If it happened to any other fan base, the same thing would be happening.

in my career as a baseball player, i went from pitcher to 3rd base to shortstop to second. i had an extremely accurate arm, but wasn't quite strong enough as i got older. couldn't make the long throw to get the runners but i was a hell of an infielder. didn't mind taking those awkward bounces to the face. i miss baseball

It is not you guys, so much as the insane "never played the game" scorre keepers that are driving me nuts with this.

The Ump is a human and I hope he remains a human.

Did you all get fucked now that we have the internet and you tube and shit.....yeah...I think he was out.

But this conspiracy bull shit and posting his address is a little overboard.

These calls have happened to Texas and we have geek fans that go nuts like this too.

Childress is a ball coach and I guarantee he is doing his best to coach up his defense and moving on to the next series.

You all had THREE errors and let our catcher tag two of your guys out.

Base running and defense.

You all have phenomenal pitching that will serve you well into the post season.

Don't keep grinding on this, I am sure that your team isn't

I said this on TexAgs and I will say it on here, while I didn't see the replays of the missed call's, to me it doesn't matter. In the end do you make it to Omaha or not. That's all that matters, to me at least.

Actually I had a great arm and had no problem getting the ball across the field quicker than most, problem is that I hoped it made it their accurately. I was also a good pitcher if I could throw strikes.

And losing the series puts us behind the 8 ball because we have no chance to host a super regional.

Again what are the odds of 1 ump making 2 game changing bad calls and miss another one in 3 straight games.

Either gross incompetence or the shit is FIXED.

unheard of for a catcher to tag out 2 players on same play?

Patterson should've been at 3rd already, and Colligan has to protect him better. It was a heads up play by the catcher, but it's one most would have made. He was running toward Colligan when Colligan was in the "hot box." Nothing spectacular about taking advantage of a mistake like you should have done by making an "oh, by the way" tag on Patterson.

Unheard of? No.

yes, you don't know of it ever being done before and neither do I.

Much less likely to occur than an umpire screwing up a play at first base.

The guy running home HAS to turn around and make the catcher stop down the base line.

There are at least one if not two of your winning runs.

But keep blaming the umpires call in the first inning for your woes in a regular season game that really cost you nothing but beating the hated sips.

My coach always told us after a game in which we got screwed by a horrible umpire that we should have done more to win the game, and not to blame it on the ump. Maybe that is total coach speak and that is fine, but I have always strayed from blaming an official when my teams lose a game. I am not saying you shouldn't be pissed, but there is nothing you, the fan, and Childress can do about it, other than go out and take care of business with yoru remaining games.

I don't know about it ever being done that a catcher tagged out 2 runners on one play? Or I don't know about it that he specifically did so close to the third base bag?

Since it directly cost the game which decided the conference, I'd say it cost us more than a regular season game against the hated sips. You see, had the Aggies swept the horns like they actually would have if not for the two blown calls, you would have 11 losses, and we would have 8. As it stands, we have 10 losses, and you have 9. Since you are finished with conference play, we cannot catch you even with a sweep of OU. Had the games been called fairly, and you have acknowledged that they were not on this very forum, all A&M would have had to do is win 2 out of 3 against OU to be conference champions. Even if A&M was swept by OU, we'd still be tied with you....and tie in standings goes to the team that won the series.

It's really that simple. Those 2 calls won you the conference championship.

And directly due to the calls at issue, we will be playing a super regional on the road if we win our regional (and it's not even established we'll get a regular regional). Those 2 games were very costly for the entire season. You can't dispute what home field advantage means in college baseball.
