i'm waiting for it to hit us. we're normally immune to downturns in O&G or the financial industry...but when both happen at the same time it's a little different. been busy as ever so far...need to make it through to sept when the busy season hits though.

I've got a buddy that's a top salesman at the biggest gun shop in OKC. He'd give his left nut to get a hold of any AR-15's, especially Colt's. He says Bushmasters are better, but it doesn't matter, he can't get any inventory in. Demand is that high.


He suggested 5 years ago that I get a MP-5 at a cost of 5k. Said guns will always hold their value.

Turns out the guy was right. The fucker should have been an anchor on CNBC for the last few years.

ar's are tough to find these days. i paid about 15% more for mine at a gun show than MSRP but everywhere online was out. glad i got it. shitload of fun.

Speaking of guns...anyone interested in a 44 Mag Desert Eagle? Apparently, it is about 5 years old and has about 2 boxes through it. I somewhat believe the guy (although I don't know him well) when he says it is basically in new condition. He's the type of guy who has enough money to buy high dollar pistols on a whim just because they look cool. He's asking $1200

Gun update:

I ran into my buddy from the range. He got a shipment of 12 S&W's M&P (military & police) Ar's in today. They have fold down rear sights. He doesn't expect more anytime soon. The price on the bastards has increased 10% in two months. Much better performance than the market.

I'm thinking about picking up a couple. A good place to park some cash. Price is $1240. Cool thing is you out of state fuckers don't have to pay sales tax.
