techsan, the building in the background is top of the hill where that dude jumped off the roof while you were here. we were about 6 blocks to the right of this pic. btw, there were several cars flipped and as you can see the smoke in the pic, several fires were started as well

Congrats to unc for winning their super bowl. I'd think a program with seventeen final four appearances and five national championships would expect to win and know how to act after winning, but that's just me.

they do it at pretty much every school save you guys. uconn, mich, mich st, florida, ucla... all have had something similar. what you're also looking at is the middle of all the main bars in chapel hill so they are just pouring out of the bars on to the street. the street behind the building that pic was taken from is definitely not the street to park your car on during a duke game. that's where the car flipping happens along with lots of the towers that are just to the right of the pic.

that crowd is pretty small compared to halloween and the national championship games

btw. it's really more like a block party than a riot there. i used to go up there all the time even after school. you might see a fight every once in a while but the most part is everyone having a good time and celebrating. rosemary (the street behind the where pic was taken) has some parts you don't really want to be trying to cut through though. you can get fucked up pretty quick back there cause the lighting is beyond suck and the thugs lie and wait for someone do come through those parts by themselves or in a small group

here's how big this game is and how stupid some people are here: there are fans (key word fans) who will drive 2 hrs from wilmington and charlotte to chapel hill just to watch the game in bars and it's at duke. people here take the fucking day off to come to chapel hill for this game. there is usually around 80k who turn out from other areas for the away game. it grows to over 100K+ for the home game - not including students and chapel hill residents. after carolina wins, the cops block off franklin and let them party for each game. if carolina wins at home, the players will come out about an hour after the game and party with them.
search texags for franklin st under my name and you will find some pics i posted of what they do when they win the national championship (if they're still up).
