I guess that is this years team motto.

This shit is getting old and about to blow up in our faces.

This team and coaches better start getting their asses ready to play.

damn that board is fucking retarded.

You can't question anything after a win. Shit they can't seem to make the transition from playing shitty might not be all that good when conference play starts in a fucking week.

i think this team has 3 good wins in rice, (yes, rice), zona, and LSU. none are resume wins by any stretch, but in all the team showed solid resolve.

this team has serious issues all over D. we have no ball awareness in the halfcourt, junior in particular. he's just so late in what should be pretty obvious help situations. transition D is a clusterfuck. junior does a great job handling picks up top and taking the guy out another 5 ft....this used to be bcg's D's calling cards.

the bottom line is we're not just horrible defensively, but we're not good. we're going to have to score to win, unlike the bcg years where even the D provided much of the teams best looks in transition.

gotta love already hearing the "these are bcg's guys." davis is perfectly equipped to play in a motion and junior has a nice jumper and hook from 10 feet and in not to mention some of the best pure athleticism at the 5 in the conference.

dash is unbelievably timid and loubeau, while having a ton of potential, is completely lost on both sides of the floor, but has the ability to be a physical presence down low....unfortunately at the cost of his perimeter D, which seriously sucks.

we have plenty of guys who can score the bball from anywhere on the floor...carter, bj, walkup, even davis. sloan and roland are remarkably athletic and junior is servicable from 10 ft in.

what scares me is watching this team deal with real pressure in the halfcourt. we've rarely seen it, but when we have, its been really really hard to watch. same with the fullcourt press, which really doesn't make too excited to play a mike anderson club.

we'll see, but i'm encouraged to see OU, KU look very very beatable. i think UT is the class of the conference and will win it. baylor is really unimpressive....solid talent and acey's athleticism is great, but nothing we can't match up with. an average coach would go 8-8 with this slate and our talent. we'll see what happens, but i'll be really disappointed if we're not dancing.

but yes, bohunk, the excuses are already plentiful. i just wish this guy would take some responsibility, grab his fucking sack, and quit being such a pussy. if you're really honest about all these execution problems, its time you reexamine your practices. there's times we're just playing a high low and its hard to tell b/c they look like such dick, but a flex.

all this being said, we're 13-1, which is about what i expected in OOC with the loss coming to zona so there's still a ton of ball to be played but i'd really like the standard bullshit to stop and for this guy to do what he's got to do.

"junior having some of the best athleticism at the 5" - outside of blake griffin, obviously.

rk, i'm pretty much done on the bball boards. i'll post occationally but there's no real room for discussion anymore. you're either a pumper or hated. was fun while it lasted.

and to be honest, that mo05 guy's obsession is a bit off.

i got called out multiple times during the offseason for saying dash wasnt going to be the impact guy everyone thought he would. i think even looch tried to correct me on MW when i said something about it over there. i played with him and james quite a bit over the summer so it was pretty funny to me to get called out by people who can only watch highlight videos and read how many stars a guy has on rivals. that kind of stuff is what keeps me from even attempting to have legit conversation over there now. the only people i ever can manage a decent aggie ball discussion with is some of you over here or some people via gchat who have called it quits on the boards.

you were absolutely right, imo. i agree that dash is a really really long way away mentally from being an impact player. little to no penetration and little ability to finish, even on a break where he's got an angle. his D is good for his age....but yes, you were absolutely right in your assessment but don't expect anyone to admit they were wrong.

pretty similar to trying to convince bobinator to tap the breaks on deandre last year. told i was an idiot, there was absolutely no doubt he would start and dominate and he had no problems, attitude issues, etc. even afterwards he still claimed he was right.

liucci tried to tell you you were wrong on dash? or that you were right?

its just crazy to hear people talk about how just unbelievably great he's done. i've seen him penetrate like 3 times and screw a finish up off a steal vs shsu. haven't even seen him shoot from outside 8 feet, and honestly, not really at all. kid has the physical tools but right now in terms of quickness but that's about it and there are a ton of D's that will be licking their chops when he's in the game.

i was really high on loubeau, but man, he's looked really really lost.

hoping both these guys will come along but it really doesn't look like it'll be this season.

it also looks like d-ro will be the whipping boy this year, ala sloan last season.

won't lie, but i'm pretty concerned going into this conference slate. we'll see. hopefully it comes together and junior keeps the momentum against the stepup in competition in conference.

its old info of no substance now so as long as none of you are uptight about it he said "I think both Dash and David will be impact freshmen. Whether or not either start remains to be seen but I would be surprised to see either start from day one. Yoshi and I differ in that I could definitely Dash being a very solid player from day one. I think Sloan starts at the point with D-Ro at the off-guard spot but-from the get-go-I would be surprised if we didn't see a lot of Dash running the point and Sloan at the two."

i had just said that i thought he was getting overhyped before the season

bball isn't really billy's forte.

i'm shocked it took him this long to hire someone else to write for him.

good call, though. not surprised no one will admit their errors.

Billy bringing in Gabe is the only reason I keep my 2nd star.

TA right now is like it was in '05 with Fran. You can't point to anything wrong or you are BBQ for it.

I don't shit about basketball other than I know more than 95% of the people on the boards right now.

If we end up in the NIT and point it out on the board then you'll get accused of the ol you want A&M to lose shit.

Maybe we can approach Brandon with the "pay" sports board. Outside of that, might as well stick to the rivalries board.

i posted quite a bit on there today just fucking around watching uk, ul, and the nfl.

seems bob gets really pissed when anyone makes predictions that prove true.

basically he wants to act like the expert in a consequence and intelligence free environment where he can't be held responsible for his stupid ass comments, ala "duke wasn't a big bball school before coach K got there."

basically everything the guy predicted last year that i called him out on was so fucking wrong that he lost it on a few threads. seems he's trying to ensure this doesn't occur again.

however deficient we may be, i still think we make the dance. i have faith we'll win the close ones enough times to build a solid, not spectacular, resume.

in general, i don't discuss sports on TA anymore other than to jack around.

no way we make the dance. we are a 6-10 conference team, period. 2 losses to Texas and 2 to Oklahoma. Likely 2 to Baylor as well. Loss on the road to KU. Split with Tard and Okie Lite and loss to Mizzou.

Holmes (yes, the pecker-hayed) is rapidly becoming my favorite player. i like his hustle and his nose for the ball. i also think his jumper is underrated.

i agree. holmes is a gamer.

i was thinking 6-10, but this conference is seriously overrated so i think we finish 7-9 and as high as 8-8.

i really don't mind losing if we play up to our abililty and are well coached. the whole "we just aren't focusing" thing that MT has broken out every game is getting a bit old. the talent and athleticism are there.

i will admit that i've agreed with his personnel decisions this year. nothing was more miserable than watch him dick around with DK at the point, coddling jordan, complaining about youth, and sitting "the mule" last year.

i totally busted on BJ. going into about 3 months prior to the first game this year he was 50/50 in my mind as the guy we lose as dead weight between him and lewis. im pretty firmly convinced lewis will not be around next year. we keep james because of size, lewis is just the toast guy now because BJ has pretty clearly stepped up.

Agree with agent. I'd be really surprised if we finish higher than 8-8 and will gladly eat crow if I'm wrong. I'm thinking sub .500 for us in conference.

i think A&M will make the dance. i'm worried about the games that should be empty the bench blowouts that end up being close. bama, zona and lsu should have been the only close games imo give or take an off night or 2. next weekend starts a big stretch against on paper 'tough' teams. A&M needs to tighten up the ship to make it through them.
Never argue with a moron. They will bring you down to their level and beat your ass with their experience.

We've got a brutal fucking first five games on conference:

@Okie State
Baylor
Oklahoma
@KU
@Texas

If we come out of these five games 2-3, we'll be in good shape. Damn that's a harsh stretch there.

It's also odd that we are playing four north teams to close out conference play. Either that will be a sweet home stretch or those games aren't going to mean anything and we'll already be playing out the string.
