Horrible play calling for most of the game, just like he had against Bama a few years ago. The QB sneak on 4th and 4 was probably the worst call I've ever seen. The fact that they were down by basically 2 td's the entire 4th Quarter and were just kind of going through the motions tells me they had already given up.

The worst part of all of this is that Leach spent the month in between Baylor and the Cotton Bowl trying to get a new gig and/or trying to get more money. The lack of motivation was pretty fucking apparent. On the other hand, Nutt was hyping the game up, getting his kids excited about playing in the Cotton Bowl...Leach and Co treated this like a non-con against UMass.

I think the only dumber thing you can do is a fake punt pass on 1st and goal.

The fake punt pass works 100% of the time, regardless of down/distance.

i wouldn't get on leach. this game's on him, but my God, this guy has your program at its all time apex. you're really upset b/c he lost a fucking cotton bowl?

of course they are upset. who gives a fuck where a coach has "gotten you". if they fuck up a game...especially the last game of the season on a national stage after a season where you have had more spotlight than ever...you are going to want to fucking hang them. poor descisons are not offset by previous success. success breeds expectations, which limits the tolerance of faux pauxs (i have no idea what those words mean).

should they want to get rid of him? no way. should they be fucking pissed at today's performance (players and coaches)? absolutely.

I'm pissed because he didn't seem to care about the game and likewise didn't properly prepare the team for the game. He is a great offensive X's and O's coach, but he is a horrible motivator. His 'ho hum I'm a quirky guy' act is pretty tiresome. Nutt had Ole Miss thinking they were playing for the National Championship, Leach had our guys thinking they were playing the fucking Spring game. Ole Miss was happy and proud to be there, Tech wasn't.

it's tough when you look at it as tech was a game away from playing for it all and ole miss has not been to a bowl game period w/ any of its current players. but you are right, nutt is a fucking salesman. my buddy from ark hated his guts...but the guy can fucking motivate, that's for sure.

11-1 with substantially less talent than his big 12 south counterparts counts for something, everything, imo.

this wasn't like RC wetting the bed every year with bluechip and NFL talent all over the two deep.... or fran using the month off to develop the only offense in the nation that would neutralize his heisman candidate QB.

i understand being upset, but again:

a) you've NEVER been in this position

b) you owe your success to one man and his schemes

you just finished off an 11-2 season. i understand the frustration, but enjoy that shit....especially coming from a&m fans. hopefully your program will learn going forward not to read too much into their clippings and leach will do a better job of getting his guys motivated against what's made out to be "inferior compeition." should be interesting to see what happens here next year with some of the losses.

in short, if leach were happy with this, ala RC, i'd be upset.

he's not. guy's a great coach and has your guys playing with a great synergistic quality that few can. he won't be resting on his laurels.

that being said, has he actively been pursuing other jobs around the nation? (honest question) sounds like some are saying he didn't really use that month and devote it fully to his current team.
