That basketball board is entertaining as hell to read.

The lines have been drawn.

The same phenomena happened on Orangebloods after the Championship and VY left.

The "pumpers vs. the "realists"...and EVERY thread degenerated in to the the same 6 posters posting the exact same thing 20 times a day.

Either we were going to win the next 30 in a row and sign the top 20 guys in the county or go 6-6 and lose all of our recruits to Miles and Saban

the biggest issue is that the "realists" are the ones that are actually correct.

deandre may not start and isn't going to be as good as you guys are thinking? holy ****. you're a f'n idiot and want the program to fail.

ut is going to contend for the big XII. my God, you're a horn!!!! its obvious!

correctly predict our record? debbie downer!!! get outta here.

a guy like muhlbach can contribute? you're a f'n idiot. he's the worst player in the big XII.

a&m last year with a first year HC that has a less than impressive record and losing an all everything PG has more question marks than ut losing durant? you don't know ****.

dash won't start within 10 games? you don't know what a true PG does!

the realists aren't predicting doom by any means, but if you say anything even remotely criticizing this staff, you're going to get rheemed (sp?). i've been told many times that i've called for MTs head that isn't even remotely close to being true and i've been told i've never criticized bcg when that isn't even close to being true. not too many guys really have any sense of reality.

sucks b/c that board used to be a really solid group of posters back in the day but now its degenerated into a complete shit show. that being said, its still really entertaining to watch janag81, maroonout05, rhodeag just go apeshit. that's truly a bizarre group of some really really insecure people.

I think more accurately the realists are CLOSER to correct. I think it's laughable to say that anyone is right all the time on Texags. It reeks of Robert Lea Wilson syndrome.

The only thing I have a big issue with you on, ht, (and I think you know this) is the constant throwing of Gillispie's name around and the hero worship of Gillispie. I know what he did for us, and I appreciate it, but I think that's what irks some people. Dude is gone now. Let it go.

bcg's name is injected at this point only for the purpose of inciting anger in others. notice the use of the words "beautiful" and "glorious" almost any time i mention him, unless i'm actually defending him, in which case i didn't inject his name in the first place.

this maroon05 guy has ty mcneely-esque potential.

as far as being right, those aren't exactly groud breaking predictions. i was on with the conference record, but obviously that's really hit or miss. the other items weren't exactly tough to predict, similiar to the posters calling for personnel changes with DK running the point and whatnot.

it didn't take bobby knight to see those coming.

I see your point, and maybe "realists" wasn't the correct term for the gloom and doomers over on Orangebloods.

It was almost like some of them wanted us to lose to fire a coach to prove that they were right.

Colt goes 24-27 and has two TE drops and we need to fire Greg Davis.

I am sure it is not as bad as it was, but I dropped my subscription because I knew already how every thread would end.

TA's basketball board is like that in its infancy.

Maybe with the roles reversed.

i gave up reading the bball board (and texags in general for the most part) a while ago. the bball board was entertaining with all the dumbness and shit for a while but now it's beyond annoying. the only thing funny to me is the ass kissing on someone who's not that fucking basketball smart himself. it is funny to watch the meltdowns when the polls come out. it's all about reputation and respect and they don't grasp that A&M isn't getting much respect right now cause they haven't really played a tough schedule. the pollsters are taking a wait and see approach and we'll all know within the next month exactly how good or bad A&M is. polls don't mean jack shit anyways cause the tourney decides who the top dog is. after the meltdown last season, A&M will have to prove it self a little more than some of the 'name' teams will to make it in the polls. conference play separates the pretenders from the contenders so respect will be earned or lost very soon

I wish brandon would have 2 sets of boards, free ones and pay ones. You can't find enough intelligence on either the football or basketball board to fill up thimble. I guess that's why we are mostly on rivalries. You can find some decent discussion.

well we used too until STAFF started cutting back on the exposures. We used to run off of the GB idiots and trolls. Plus you can't start a thread without the idiot ribby fucking it up. about the only board you can get any decent discussion is the baseball board. Well until the season starts then after we lose one game the morons show up starting the Childress isn't the right man for the job threads.

Right on BQ_90. The exposures and all that other shit were a means of cleansing the boards of the idiots. Rivalries was really the only board where that happened to some extent. Still does some because the idiots just get beaten into submission, except for the ones like Lea that keep coming back no matter what.

rivalries used to be great even without the exposures. now it's so watered down it's almost the general board. the only thing different between the 2 is the subject matter and sometimes, you can't tell which one you're reading

Some of the exposures (and the fake ones) have been epic.

The BB board just needs a good cleansing. You'd think it's a Summers Eve convention with all the douches that have taken up residence there. I don't even like college BB but that board is entertaining from an outsider's perpspective. So many "experts" that speak in generalities. I guarantee you they just repeat what they heard on on sports radio, sports center or by an announcer.

the ONLY good thing about those boards is that it keeps most of the tools in one place. That's what's great about the General Board. The crazies stay over there with the other crazies. In the case of the hoops and FB boards, though, it kind of squeezes out the folks who actually want to have serious discussions, which actually is one of the reasons surf created this shit over here.

brandon should create a pay sports board because AO is usually just a mature board for general topics. with a pay sports board he'd have a reason to dish out bannings for the crap that goes on normally on fball/bball and keep it on topic.

I had hoped when I bought the second star that the M&W board would be like that. Honestly until billy hired Gabe, there really wasn't much sports discussion other than the billy cock suckers and haters.

But a sports only pay board would work only if you banned the shit outta trolls and anybody starting Hou/Dallas threads.

Yep. A true, serious sports only board would probably be impossible on TA. There are just too many people that want to troll or just shit talk about the same petty bullshit.

The game that killed the Watkins era for me was when we went up to Waco and played a game against a bad Baylor team in front of MAYBE 1,000 fans on Super Bowl Sunday and got beat by about 50 damn points.

I believe that was in 2002
