Offense doesn't look too bad. But the defense....oh....my....gawd.

*On offense I thought we did ok. More maturity at QB and OL and some more wideouts who can catch (just how do you get a Division 1 scholie without being able to catch anyway?) and we'll be good. Most of the errors were made by new players so I'm not too upset.
*Is Michael Bennett still alive? Thought Ike might have got him. Didn't see him on the field today. Oh there you are Mike, whew, ya had me worried for a minute there, bud.
*Our defense was the suck in the first half and slightly better the second. Or maybe Miami just got tired of running so far.
*I strongly suspect Lane might be in some kind of doghouse. I don't think he touched the ball once today. His blocking seemed to be better though.
*Fuller is a good-un. Let's get some more like him.
*My prediction that every team on our schedule will have a 100 yard rusher against us is holding up.
*Miami seemed a lot less thug-like than usual.
*Dr. Murano, I love ya babe. But if you EVER throw up the "Number One" sign again I will do terrible things to your vag with a tube of Super Glue. You see, you Cuban twat, giving the "Number One" sign is reserved for teams that have won a title in the sport in the last few years. In the case of futbol, we haven't. Go to one our wimmins sports. It's more appropriate there.
*Oh, and while we're on that subject, I'm gonna go to a game this year with a pair of pliers. And any Ag I catch throwing the "Wrecking Crew" hand sign will get a finger pulled out.
*Enjoy the Army game folks. That might just be the last win this year.

Marriages are bad for college football watching.

I goto my Mexican joint in J-town and order some beer and enchiladas. I spot this smokin' bitch (which is a rarity around here). She's got titties, long hair, plenty of makeup and a short skirt. Having never seen her before, I make my move, introduce myself and offer to buy her a drink.
She responds, "I'd love one, but I'm only 13."
Obvious sign it's time to get to the fucking house and limit the damage.
I might be posting from a different time zone for awhile.

They then cleared out.
Shortly after that a random bitch comes up and asks me to dance. We go through the motions a few times and she admits her marital status and the fact she has 3 kids.
I shouldn't take these L's so seriously. It's just a dam game.
I'll get my attitude back in check.

peterson starting indicates how bad we are. our LBs are a joke. i do think we're decently ok up front on D.
jerrod johnson is a fucking man as is goodson.
this D is seriously difficult to watch.

Goodson's spin moves, combined with our team's tendancy to stand around and watch him after his initial burst, serve him up for some abuse. Dude absorbed a few strong hits yesterday.
Why j-train doesn't get the ball on a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th and 1 is beyond my comprehension. I don't care what kind of attitude he has or how far his tatties sag down, the fucker can get a yard.

if he has a D worth a fuck, that probably isn't the case.
w/o JJ, that's a 40+ point loss.
we were sitting about 4 down for a guy that used to coach under johnson at miami. just said he'd much much rather face mcgee. tells you all you need to know.
i'm honestly surprised we haven't pinned that arky lite loss on JJ.

people around the nation are using mcgee's name as a punchline in analyzing their own QBs performances....objective parties are ranking this guy as THE WORST big XII QB.
combine that w/ what jerrod brings to the table and the fact it frees up some of rest of the offense, the choice is clear, but unfortunately it seems most prefer the former.
if stephen can get healthy, actually STEP into the pocket and go DOWNFIELD, i'm ALL FOR him getting the nod. if he can't, we've got to move forward the QB that can.

if you think JJ should be starting, then by God, you must think he played the PERFECT game...this couldn't be further from the truth. he isn't done making "mistakes", hopefully the fumbles will decrease, but my God, it was his FIRST career start and if you're going to go apeshit on every pick, then this offense probably won't be your favorite thing...throwing a pick isn't the end of the world.
i know most say i couldn't possibly respect mcgee b/c i think JJ affords this team its best chance to the win game at this point but that couldn't be further from the truth. the kid sacrificed his body for the program and for a coach that threw his career and that of many players from joey thomas to reggie mcneal in the fucking garbage....i respect him always bucking up and taking the beating he did. he's been a part of some memorable wins...the 2 vs ut being the best examples.
as far as player "criticism", that's just part of playing game at this level. there's absolutely no fucking way i could operate a semi-complicated HS offense and my fucking head would explode at the college level. that being said, i haven't seen a ton of "bashing," but rather factual comments that portray a situation contrary to what is desired by other posters, at which point, the previous poster is labled a basher. the views expressed by me have been repeated to me and agreed, off the record, to by no less than a few current players and many many of the former players that played w/ both QBs. and these guys like stephen, but think JJ operates better on the d1 level as a QB...gives Ds more to think about and presents more problems.
the fact of the matter is that if i have a shitty CPA that fucks up my partnership return, does that mean if i couldn't do better, i shouldn't say anything other than he's a great CPA? i've lived and am friends w/ quite a few guys that played d1 and professionally...these guys know when they play horribly and they expect VALID criticism and they never had a problem receiving that criticism. i have no problem w/ any of the players including stephen and i respect that kids personal views beyond belief....unfortunately that, nor a couple big wins vs ut, doesn't eliminate or make him immune from criticism and especially valid criticism from many objective, knowledgeable parties that share the same view.
all of us would love NOTHING more for than for stephen to get healthy asap, get back on the field, and demsonstrate that he's capable of making plays w/ his arm in a west offense w/ his arm and be THE BEST QB on campus. i'd be the happiest guy in the world if that were to happen and probably 98% of "mcgee haters" would COMPLETELY agree w/ me on that. a great SR year from stephen, even despite Ws and L's, would be a silver lining in whats going to be a very very shit filled season.
gig'em.

i didn't see anyone saying that, puddy. all i see is where they said JJ's mistakes probably cost us about 14 points.
if he has a D worth a fuck, that probably isn't the case.
Did our D cause him to fumble and throw the pick?
We agree that our D is terrible. But your constant defense of him is transparent and shows your bias. The question was whether he cost us 14 points early in the third. Your answer was that if our defense was worth a fuck, that wouldn't be the case?
If he's our QB the rest of the year, we're in for a long year. if McGee is, we're in for a long year.

what i mean by this is they aren't playing for you or the university. they're playing for themselves. how many players hang out with the students instead of their teammates? probably not many and those that do don't play.

My problem here is the way McGee is being bashed on and treated. Yes, I'm defending the staff's decision to start him over JJ because I think it's the right thing to do. I wouldn't be as defensive about people wanting JJ in there if not for the fucking hatred being shown to a kid who has given us what he's got.
RK said it best. Since the season is a wash, get him some playing time. But stop throwing McGee under the fucking bus. I've said it before and I'll say it again. There are repercussions for it.
HT: I mean no disrespect and acknowledge your arguments. But you have yet to acknowledge any counter arguments here.
McGee won the job.
He had one bad game.
JJ did not look great.
Our defense is why we are losing and will continue to lose.
Treat McGee with some fucking respect.
That's all I'm saying.

McGee had 3 years to get it done, JJ's had one game. I don't bash on McGee as a person, just as a QB. he's terrible and everyone knows it. those errors JJ made in the game will get better as he gets more PT. With the errors he showed tremendous promise in many areas, including downfield presence and holding the pocket longer, even with all the pressure. the team he played was much faster than arkie st. and I think JJ held up pretty good considering the circumstances. If McGee would learn some misdirection with those DBs, he might be better, but his eyes can be read from the last seat in the Zone as to where the ball is going, and that what separates him from being below average to above average.

I agree with jorts for the most part. I respect the hell out of mcgee. I have a hard on for football players of his ilk. I like his style of play and the way he stands up for his team. That being said, he is simply not a very good drop back passer. I don't know that calling a spade a spade is disrespectful.
Mcgee's winning the job before the season means little to me. He must have showed he knew the playbook and he could go through his progressions against our defense. He did not have one bad game. His "bad" passing games date back several years. I've told myself for three years now that he's battling through a shoulder injury.
