shouldn't be really bad. power will go out and be windy as a motherfucker. get all your shit stored away that's outside so it doesn't get blown away. load up on shit that doesn't need refrigerated and fill up some water jugs for your toilet and showering in case the water is bad. nothing to it after that but watch shit get blown around and watching it rain like a motherfucker. now if you live in a area that's prone to flooding, better get all your shit out and take it somewhere it won't get flooded. i love hurricanes and big storms in general. hell if i could, i'd come out there and ride that fucker out with y'all. if you can, head down to the beach and watch the surge and shit come in. that shit's fucking crazy during a direct hit. make sure you have some glasses for your eyes though so the sand doesn't fuck them up. i have pock marks from the sand all over my skin from one of the big ones we had here - bertha or fran i think. it was the one that sat off hatteras for like a week and then came back in. awesome surfing the whole week. flooded the shit out of the eastern part of the state but it was fun.

I'm in Illinois right now, but supposed to get back to houston at 530 tomorrow. I'll probably head home tonight if I can change my flight. I'm not evacuating unless that thing gets within 50 miles of my place. Other than that, I'm hanging around for the fireworks.

i'm staying the Houston area but leaving downtown to go to my brother's. i don't want to get stuck in my apartment by myself. i'm just hoping it doesn't take 5 hours to go the 20 miles i need to go.

My parents are sticking it out this time. I think the 12 hour trip from Houston to CS really soured them on the idea of evacuating.
Good news is that means I can still get wasted this weekend instead of having to entertain them!

I went thru lots of hurricanes. I don't remember "big bottle of Jack" on the emergency supplies list, much less the only item on the list. Of course maybe I've been doing it wrong.
