but honestly, i'm thinking 4 wins right about now and i don't think that's a knee jerk reaction and truthfully, it could even be worse than that.

were you at the game? i was also in the 6-6 camp, but didn't see the game so i have no idea how correctable any of this shit is. the fumbles should go away prett quick for the most part (had the same problem early last year), but INT's and missed FG's could be a weekly junk kick.

if they could have executed for shit in the red zone, they'd have won by 10.

our D, LB in particular, are fucking atrocious outside of a couple players.

mcgee has no pocket presence and still doesn't really go downfield. OL gave him plenty of time in the first half and the guy just isn't a playmaker like JJ.

fucking tannehill and JJ are our best receivers.

3 walk ons on D.

its like 03, but maybe worse.

I said 7-5 a few weeks ago with losses to Miami, Tech, Okie Like, OU, and Texas. I now revise my prediction to 4-8 with the following losses....

Miami (double digits)
Okie Lite (double digits)
Tech (another ass raping from them)
KState (close loss)
OU (another 77-0 type game)
CU (close loss)
Texas (double digits)

Any team with a halfway decent D-line is just going to absolutely dominate us. OU really scares me, and whomever the A&M QB is at that time should be scared as well. Their D-line is going to tee off.

as long as mcgee's the QB its the same story, sellout to stop the run and make SM develop a deep game, which won't happen.

JJ is our best option at this point w/ this line. no doubt about it.

just a complete fucking disaster. didn't realize NM was so terrible. should squeak one out there.

ht, are you that hard sold on jj or just that anxious to get mcgee out of there. i've been hearing about jj's accuracy issues in practice...for what that's worth. i'm all for a change at this point....i'd take an off-target pass every once in a while over a 15 yard sack or incomplete 3 yard pass. i was really hoping mcgee wouls be able to snap back from being dennis'd...but it doesn't look like that will ever happen.

I know that Texags is calling for McGee's head and want JJ in there now. But has anyone stopped to consider the possibility that JJ isn't that good or ready to handle QB duties yet? A new coach owes nothing to anyone and should have no loyalties. If this year is a rebuilding year, and McGee is starting, it could hint at bigger problems for the Aggies.

now you've been on texags long enough to know that the back up is light years better than the starter. the coaches are just holding them back because they're stupid and us armchair coaches know way more than they do. i'm still waiting on byrne to call so i can go turn this team into a national champion

I think my favorite, recent TA post is one stating that Fran had no football IQ. You don't coach three different college football teams without "football IQ".

fran was good at smaller schools with easy schedules. he caught the sec during a bad year but that bamam team was fucking loaded with talent when he got there. had he stayed there he'd have been let go within 4 years. they demand excellence and won't tolerate medioricty. hate to say it but A&M needs to have the same thinkline if they want to turn this thing around. fran was kept 2 years too many. it's going to be a couple of years before things get turned around. i still think sherm will do a good job but if anyone thinks he's going to turn them into national contenders over night, they're on crack. zook had florida stocked, blake did the same at OU and if cooper could have beated michigan none of you would have a clue who tressell is. everyone talks about the great turn arounds those guys did and how they won the national championship right after the new coaches got there but they forget that those schools recruited lights out and were stacked with top talent when the old coach was fired. cooper at Ohio State made mac look like fran when it came to recruiting

sooner, had fran kept his offense the same throughout his career as it was in 2nd year here, we'd have won 10 games last year.

he did reach a point where he really couldn't see the forest through the trees. take a 4.3 pocket passer w/ a cannon and pretty eliminate what he does best. take 2 GREAT TEs and only get them the ball 5 yds out posting up, stationary blocking out against a DB or heading OOB.

he hit a point where he and the staff truly did lose it.

I do think Fran lost it. I think it was more in the cojones department. His testes acended after Byrne put the squeeze on.

When he did coach to his potential, he beat Texas...twice.

Look, I think in the end I believe that Sherman will be a good hire, but like the excuse used for Fran, the cupboard was bare. The recruiting on the lines on both sides of the ball has been pathetic. And while you can SOMETIMES take a 2* or 3* a stud lineman, it is hard to make your entire line that and hope to suceed. Yes you have one offed some good lineman, problem is lineman are the hardest project at the next level, I believe that is why Mack loads up year end and year out. Until you are able to recruit better on the lines you are fucked.

honestly, i kept hearing how mcgee was going deep in practice as well but it just doesn't translate into the game situations for the kid.

JJ has always made things when he comes and hasn't had tremendous issues. he's had a pocket presence, steps up, and makes throws mcgee wouldn't dare (his TD vs montanta state comes to mind). i just think that w/ the o line in its current state, we do need our most elusive guy under center.

honestly, i think that roger holland injury is one that no one really talks about but has/will have a sizeable effect on this offense.

I agree 100% with this.
