i had a buddy with over 20 interviews with goldman sachs...4 isn't that much. the last was with a person in another department, probably to see if i am compatible with working close to that group...the first interview was a phone interview, 2nd with the guy who'd be my boss and the 3rd with the VP of the division. just found out the guy who would be my boss is out of town today.

why the hell would you NOT call them? i mean, i wouldn't badger them and call every day, but a follow-up call to just ask where they are in the selection process wouldn't hurt. besides, it shows you're definitely interested in the job.

especially after 4 interviews
Jen, I respectfully disagree.
As I guy that hires and fires, this is not the play for him.

i tend to disagree, depending on the job. if it accounting or some non proactive job, then yes, don't contact, but if its sales and business development, then i believe you make contact. you have to be somewhat aggressive in those roles and it shows just that. i'm sure you've worked in sales, you don't sit back and wait for your prospective client to call you, otherwise they won't.

I live for sales and can't get back to it enough.
that said...that fourth interview should have been you interviewing them.
clearly there is interest after three interviews and at that point you throw it back on them to sell themselves to you...
jmo.
I don't think you should call afterward.
