You know, you're not a sports expert yourself, houstontexan. I know you like to take these stances about things like BCG's greatness, etc. and scoff at anyone that disagrees with you about something A&M-basketball related. But I've seen your posts, and you aren't the only guy out there with a valid opinion about those kinds of things. Similar to your stance that Tech will be great next year, your basis being how many starters they return from last year's team and their d-line getting 3 4 stars, a couple which I think are JUCO transfers. I'm not saying that you're wrong and they won't be, but there are plently of valid reasons why they might not live up to the billing you're giving them. A lot of people thought A&M would be pretty solid last season after 2006 with very similar reasoning, but it didn't pan out that way at all.

great hedge, btw. nothing better than some pussy playing "risk management" instead of ever grabbing his nuts and committing to a position.
i've been wrong plenty of times. when we hired bcg, i just thought we'd need a big time name like a lon krueger. i wasn't raised playing big time D and never played for a coach like that. trust me, me being sold on bcg was process that took about 4 games. after we lost antoine, everyone, myself included, doubted his ability to keep guiding the program...it got better every year. none of this "we lost our leader so i'm just gonna throw up my hands and bitch" bullshit. guy just did his job and maxed his guys out.
there are plenty of valid reasons to love bcg if you're an aggie. the fact you're actually attending a game or two instead of hanging out in your fucking sigma nu pledge jersey is just one.
tech's going to win at least 9 and its my belief, that they're going to seriously push for the title. a little risky? yeah. but there isn't much fun in sitting around saying OU every year. i'm definitely on a limb with this one, but i really think this is the year and its by no means a baseless opinion.

I "hedged" just like you did at the end of your post, dumbass.
What the fuck are you talking about?
I never said your opinion was baseless. It's you scoffing at others when they believe otherwise. There's a difference.

you're absolutely right and it took an abortion of a coaching and QB job to run that season into the ground. with the big XII, the south in particular, the way it was last year, there was no reason a&m shouldn't have pushed hard in the south. a&m's position in the south with its returning experience, talent was a great barometer of fran's offense than anything and it tells just how shitty of a job he really did.
i will say i think there are certainties. i tried like a motherfucker to warn people about their expectations right off the bat for deandre. i'd seen him play in person on a number of occasions and at the fonde and the kid was a complete pussy much of the time. he'd score if you drew two down low and dished it. maybe a follow on a fast break....shit that anyone over 6' could convert. he was just so raw. i believe catarano also stated this opinion. it wasn't well received but that wasn't a prediction as much of it was an absolute certainty.
i don't at all make fun of educated or ballsy predictions that are well thought out. what i do laugh at is when people absolutely idiotic predictions or even statements (light the upper concourse, all the big programs do it, expand reed, or the dreaded "a&m bball should play at kyle field").
i'm wrong on a ton on a ton of shit, and i'll absolutely own up to it. fuck, i didn't think bcg was capable of getting this program out of the shitter. i would have preferred a big name, a kruger, a eustachy, or whoever. couldn't have been more wrong if i tried.

i called it pretty good. nailed the canes game to a tee. got the texas game wrong but record was about what i predicted. fran was smoke and mirrors and that was about it. i said he needed to go 3 years ago and got laughed at for it
most of the people here will tell you that i am not lying or exaggerating this

the ou 04 game is great where he scolds mcneal on the sideline for going over the top to schroeder for a 40 yd TD. his handling of the offense in 05 and carter and mcneal's reactions coming out of the huddle spoke volumes. amazing he couldn't make the changes.
pretty solid call, surf. the guy cost quite a few kids NFL careers.

Remember those Acie & Josh Carter arguments we always used to get into after the 04 season?

Also, has anyone ever hit up rudi lechners on wednesday? I highly reccomend it. Decent beer specials + all you can eat brats + live german folk music with band members (including females) decked out in lederhosen. It really doesn't get much better than that.
