thanks. if i get this internship, i will be in jacksonville working in either strategy, mktg, or media relations. from there, if i do the right job, they could offer me a full-time position in one of those business units. the only thing that worries me is the pay, but the opportunity would be great. the bonus is that i get a free membership to TPC Sawgrass.

Well, pay is always important. But your dreams take precedent and if that's what you want, go for it and don't look back. If I were offered a chance to work for MLB or an MLB club...man, I would be excited.

how would that work? do teams hire a firm, or is it individual players that hire their own firms?

I think individual players hire agents, which I don't thnk I'd ever want to do (not that I could). Just wouldn't wanna have to continually give knob jobs to 20 year old dumbasses who have egos even bigger than mine if you can imagine that. I'd think every team as well as the MLB has attorneys just like any other business, but I'm not sure how they operate. Dream job: GM for the Houston Astros.

Kind of the roadies of the PGA tour.
Anyway, I met about 20 of them in the hotel bar and these guys THREW DOWN.
I remember talking with them quite a bit, it was a Monday night, and it was like every other Monday night for these guys but in a different city.
Seemed like a hell of a job for a young guy coming out of college.
I am not sure what this has to do with your thread, but I thought I would post it anyway.

I'm a finalist for an internship with PGA Corporate, so keep your fingers crossed that I get this. If I get this, it would set the path for my career.

How can tell you how it will end, string of totaled golf carts from here to Scotland

To be clear, these weren't the guys actually throwing the cable, or constructing the bleachers, they seemed to be more to the guys that coordinated making all of that happen.
Definitely college educated guys, and probably not in a position in their lives to have a family, or even just a wife.
These guys were pulling pussy like like 9000 town after town and working most days with a hangover.
The compensation seemed adequate, although I never asked any of them what they were making, they seemed happy.
