God, that's embarrassing in so many ways.

If you mean they'll be a little better than usual, that could be true. However, I don't agree in the sense that I don't see them in the Big 12 Title Game or anything like that. I really don't understand the fascination with a team that was LUCKY to go .500 in conference last year.

take from that what you will, but i dont believe this is a reflection on the Offense at all. we ALL know how good they are.
If Tech stays healthy, they'll be pretty stout this year.
Oh and Baron Batch will be the starter at tailback. one of the college caoches that came to watch him play saturday said he reminded him of Marion Barber, said he runs like he's pissed off at the world. if he's half as productive as Henderson was, we'll be alright.

I just really hope this Tech team isnt like all the others.
So have any of you faggots been out to watch Spring practices in Collieville or talked to anyone who has? I keep hearing good things about this Bradley Stephens cat. Is he Goodson's backup? and is Jerrod Johnson gonna get the nod this Fall? I'm terrified of that dude.

Kansas was a fluke this year. Missouri wasn't, and they'll still be salty, but Kansas is going to be good for AT LEAST 3-4 losses this year.

with the big XII absolutely sucking last year, any fucking decent coach would have at least competed for the south with our personnel. fucking fran. guy sucks.
i'm impressed with last year's class, but this next one isn't looking so hot from what we have and the prospects defecting recently.
we'll see. i'm still in shock that fucking byrne tossed out $1.7/year guaranteed for 7 fucking years. almost as stupid as giving MT $1.2/year for 7 guaranteed off a .500 season.

we do lose a lot of people on the line, but sherman being an offensive line genius doesn't worry me that much on that side of the ball. he can do a lot with a little.

there's going to be a huge learning curve. combine it with the fact we have jack shit at TE after losing thomas and MB, its going to hurt.
i'm hoping sherm can get it done, but i wouldn't blame him if he couldn't. that's a pretty big fucking hurdle to lose your whole o line and 2 of your best D linemen.
hopefully johnson gets the nod under center.

The one thing I think about Sherman (and hope) is that being a professional coach, maybe he can better game plan to play on his strengths and, more importantly, disguise his shortcomings. That last thing is something Fran was NEVER able to do.

a friend of mine that played on the line would talk about players literally saying to them that they knew would do anything but sit in the pocket. the biggest worry with his passing game was the WR screen.
we had the TEs to create some serious fucking matchup problems last year. fran has mindfucked mcgee so hard that i'm not sure he'll ever be able to get into his head that picks are part of the game and going to happen. worst offense i've ever seen in my life.

not to really go off, but fran's handling of these guys' careers borders on fucking criminal.

Our lines, like HT said, the both of them, are going to look alot different than last year. Were going to basically have a brand new OL. Im not holding out a bunch of hope for them to be any more than servicable this year.
The QB spot will be solid, and im hoping to see JJ get a fair share of minutes under center this year.
The RB spot will be better. This and next year, as far as talent and depth of talent at RB go, this will be the best RB corps seen in a long time in College Station. We are absolutely loaded at RB. Goodson, Lane, Stephens, and Gray. Sick.
The WR's are going to be weaker than last year, but we do have Shankle and Morrow. Both of those guys are capable playmakers.
TE is going to be much weaker than last year, even though Fran decided against TE's being a strength of the team last year.
Well be OK @ LB.
Well be OK @ CB/S.
The real question marks are OL/DL.

Well I think mostly because they've kept Mike outta practices and Stephen is getting reps with the 1st team.
I went to practice last Thursday. I'm fucking chugging the kool-aid. I saw more seam routes run in practice (with actual catches) than I've seen in the past 5 years. WTF knew you where allowed to hit a Aggie WR on the fly.

*New head coach
*Two new coordinators
*Mostly new assistant staff
*New offense , one that takes time to implement and recruit personnel for (see Callahan at Nebraska)
*Questionable talent at receiver
*New defense with little talent to run it (a rumored reason Herring bailed to the Cowboys)
*The usual lack of speed and quickness on defense, a killer problem in a pass-happy conference like the Big 12.
*A green offensive line who's lone returning starter will now be playing for the Mean Machine.
I'm figuring 7-5, maybe even 6-6.
Our best hope is that Sherman can find ways to get our running backs (the strength of the team) involved in the passing game and that Johnson plays well enough to win the job from McGee (I love McGee but it makes no sense to spend a year teaching the West Coast Offense to a senior qb and then have to do it all over again with Johnson or whoever the next year). If it's a rebuilding year, then let's rebuild.
