what happens if this harris recruit comes in and struggles at the point next year? he's the texags appointed savior and there's a huge jump in dominating high school and dominating college. dj is finding that out this year. i think there are too many hopes and expectations being placed on this kid and he hasn't even stepped on the court yet.
Never argue with a moron. They will bring you down to their level and beat your ass with their experience.

He's going to be the bestest ever. Don't bring up silly hypotheticals like this.

I think dash is going to come in and struggle. While several great high school point guards have come in and made a big difference in college ball over the last few years, I think its one of the more difficult positions to adjust to.

But to answer your question, the bball board will be exactly like it is right now.

I agree that Sloan is going to sense some competition, work hard, and come back ready

sloan has a sense of competition. the guy works his ass off and is trying to fill this role in the worst way.

simply put, if MT was crying like a bitch this year about lack of experience, he'll have the excuse train out next year.

i watched dashan in the houston vs. the nation tourney at the campbell center. not sure what to think, but it was his worst game of career according to some....we'll see.

my favorite is the "we don't have the personnel to run the motion" argument. two big guys that can face up from 15 feet and out, some IQ guys in muhlbach, walkup carter are capable at the 3 (providing that a coach is actually going to improve nate from the day he steps on campus).

we'll see, though. i think losing nique and joe will be fucking huge...even muhlbach to some extent, who i believe bcg would have given some decent minutes to all year.

Here's the situation. The student have given up and moved back to baseball. We have a another good baseball year (esp. in the post season) basketball will suffer (attendance).

Also watch the season tickets renewals plunge.

Missing the NCAAs this year could set this program back to the mediocre level.

Now who's nows how the conference make up will change. Drew could leave, but it looks like the conference has bounced back from the down year last year (mostly the north schools).

My point is missing the ncaas will kill recruiting.

this whole season isn't helping out on recruiting. you have to remember, A&M just rose from the dead 2 years ago on the national scale. big time recruits are going to play a wait and see game because they want to win and win now. the bad losses are showing them that maybe A&M is going to be a flash in the pan (which is how it's looking right now imo) so they are looking at other places to go to instead. had they played like everybody thought they would this year, there'd be some big time recruits with interest in coming there. look at the rivals lists and compare how many have texas in theirs compared to A&M. i don't like comparing them but this is a good example. texas has been pretty steady for a while while A&M had 1 good year and 1 big year. the rest haven't been much to talk about. i will say this though, as disappointed as you guys are in A&M's performance, there are a ton of schools that would trade in a heartbeat

Exactly. Also don't under estimate the connections that BCG had/has with Texas HS coaches. Turge most likely doesn't have this. If he goes the Melvin rout of trying to bring in outta staters things will hit the shit in a hurry.

I don't really know enough about college basketball to say the BCG would take this same team to a Elite 8 or even sweet 16, but I'm afraid that A&M is head back to the bottom 6 of the Big XII. Or at least they will have to really fight it out for recruits with tech, BU, oSu, and OU. Now our huge investment in facilities may keep us in the top 6, but bottom line A&M is not and will not be a basketball school.

The only thing to hope for is that pretty much all of BB hires have had a bad 1st year (except BCG) and started making progress then 2nd year. Year 2 will be huge for Turge and whether or not Aggie basketball will be a contender or pretender.

I don't think this season will impact recruiting all that much. We aren't recruiting nationally (dash and david aside). We're recruiting texas, and I think we'll be ok with our new facilities and the fact that we have the potential to compete on a national scale.

I do question Turge's ability to recruit Texas.

i don't think they'll fall that far back.

i don't really get this whole out of state thing. look at all the top 25 teams and tell me how many are playing mainly instate kids. to me that's a load of shit.

If you are an elite program you can have that attitude. A&M is building, Texas is rich in talent (I count a kid form Houston that goes plays in prep school on the East coast as a Texas kid).

At some point you got to recruit you backyard if you expect to go out and get the out of state talent.

Just my $.02

outside of denzel, these are his only two pickups. doesn't look like he'll too much of a force in recruiting in texas.

i remember going to a few games in my hometown when i was home over breaks and whatnot. i went to 5 games bcg's 2nd year. its in the houston area.....that motherfucker was at 4 of them. he was absolutely fucking relentless on the recruiting trail. no one outworked him.
